Judge Sentences Father of Georgia School Shooter, Citing Parental Failure
Colin Gray, the 55-year-old father of the Georgia high school shooter, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the 2024 attack that killed two students and two teachers. Prosecutors argued that Gray ignored major warning signs about his son's declining mental health and school-shooter obsession, and instead bought him the rifle used in the attack. The judge criticized Gray for failing as a parent, making this the third time in the US that a parent has been held criminally responsible for a mass shooting carried out by their child.
